While social media is one of the most effective ways to grow your business today, it can be rather time consuming. Luckily, it can be an easy task to tackle and not as big of a time commitment if you’re smart about what, how, and when you post. Here are five simple timesaving social media tips to get some extra hours back in your day:

Take Some Time to Brainstorm

Creating content can be the longest part of the process. Sometimes you simply just get stuck. Bouncing off ideas with co-workers is a great way to get those juices flowing. Reviewing your analytics can also be a useful way to see what to post. What did your followers like? What did your followers dislike? Why was this post so successful? Build from this information.

Create Dateless Content

Save time by creating a content library of evergreen posts that are universally relevant. This post should be able to be published in January on a Wednesday and in September on a Saturday. From here, you can create a content bank to pull from at any time and tweek depending on the circumstances.

Schedule Ahead of Time

Sitting in front of the computer the day of trying to generate content can be stressful. Planning ahead will ease your mind a little. Set aside some time at the beginning of each week (or month if you’re an overachiever!) to create a social media calendar for the upcoming days. Go ahead and schedule this content to relieve even more stress. Rather than scrambling and trying to find time that day, you’ll already have everything prepared and ready to go! Use sites such as Buffer, Planoly, and HootSuite for scheduling.

Find Which Platforms are Beneficial to You and Focus on These

Don’t waste time creating and saving content on Pinterest if your audience is not here. It is valuable to spread your content throughout different platforms, however, not if the results are weak. Master a couple of platforms that completely fit the brand of your company. If you’ve found that your Instagram account is successful, make this your focal point and when you have time, work on improving engagement elsewhere. This will probably take some time analyzing your audience and their likes and dislikes, but will be worth it at the end of the day.

Outsource

When in doubt, outsource! If you have a social media savvy team, delegate and utilize them. As much as you’d like to, you can’t do everything. When it comes to social media you may need a helping hand to engage with followers, create content, and review analytics. That’s where we come in.
