Local Works
If you’re looking to rent a coworking community space with everything you need in one spot, Local Works is a definite recommendation. You have the choice of joining as a member for full-time, part-time, or flex-time working hours. The lounge and bar space is the perfect pick-me-up spot to enjoy a cup of fresh coffee or snack from the community kitchen. Some other perks? Launchpad
If “get more done & love where you work” is your motto as well, then give Launchpad a whirl. Launchpad was originally created in New Orleans after the demand for office space was needed after Hurricane Katrina. These “work pods” and shared working spaces were first developed through a Craigslist post and Launchpad was soon established as the first of its kind. Rent a coworking space, permanent desk, or office space per month in the Charleston office to enjoy a flexible, educational and fun community workspace.
Marion Square
For the outdoorsy type of worker, set yourself up with a little picnic area or grab a bench in Marion Square. Marion Square, located in the center of downtown Charleston, is a beautiful green space spanning a little over 6 acres. You might be thinking about your availability of internet usage? Thanks to a community grant from Google, the Charleston Free Wi-Fi initiative was launched in February of 2012. Marion Square is one of Charleston’s most popular parks and is the gathering place and venue for events including Charleston Fashion Week, The Wine & Food Festival, Piccolo Spoleto, the Charleston Farmer’s Market and the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. So if you’re looking to get a little bit of fresh air for inspiration stay connected in the park.
Workshop
If you looking for a workspace where you can grab a bite, Workshop is the hip place to be. Whether your team is craving pizza or Vietnamese, chances are they have both. Enjoy a rotating food selection with plenty of options from renowned and emerging chefs. There is plenty of parking for your team and a large shared space to work and eat with some of the Holy City’s most creative minds. Black Tap Coffee
For the coffee drinker at heart, there are plenty of little tucked-away places around Charleston to work remotely. A popular but quiet neighborhood spot during the morning hours is Black Tap Coffee. Just a few blocks from the College of Charleston, Black Tap is a small but modern mecca for the coffee lover at work. Whether you are a resident or a first-time visitor, they will share their space willingly and steam one of the Holy City’s most loved Lavender Lattes.
Browns Court Bakery
If you’re looking for a small and quiet spot to work solo, Brown’s Court Bakery often has visitors coming to work or study alone. With two floors of seating, this unique place is perfect when you are in need of staying focused. So drop in with your laptop and be sure to grab one of their pastries or warm croissants.
