Over 1.6 billion people around the world use Facebook for their business as a second web page. It is a very important platform to have and to frequently update. As Facebook grows by the minute, it continues to make advances and in recent months, we’ve seen a couple of notable changes. Here are a few updates to get you motivated to take a look at your page and make sure you are making the most out of your presence on Facebook – the social media giant.

A new Facebook template has launched – The new template that you see is called a “service template”. This template provides more important information for businesses like products and services, menus, business hours, and more. Its intention is to make it easier for people to connect with your business via Facebook.

Facebook is redesigning Pages on mobile for businesses – Again, Facebook is trying to make finding your favorite business easier for you. There is an option to make a reservation at a restaurant, make an appointment at a salon, or see upcoming events all from your phone.

Making Recommendations – This tool is great to be able to ask your community suggestions for where to go, where to eat, where to shop, etc. The opportunities here are endless. Facebook will be making those Recommendations more prominent on Pages.

Continuing to build events – 700 million people use Facebook Events each month to find things to do in their communities. These people can actually buy tickets to an event directly from that Facebook event page, as well. Facebook sales have seen two times the results of other websites like Ticketmaster.

Expanding job tools – Facebook continues to help people find work in their communities. They have now expanded their job application tool to everywhere in the world.

Taking steps to make finding a local spot quicker – You can now use the Facebook app “Local” to browse businesses around you, find recommendations, and see what events your friends are attending.

Some of these updates have either already been put in place or are in the works. However, Facebook is constantly changing, so it’s always important to keep an eye on your page.
