A website is key to a successful business, even with an awesome social media presence. And while having a website is great, having a lead generating website is, obviously, even better. Today, we’re going to talk about a few of the ways you can create the best lead generating website, and how to keep your website continuously bringing in new leads to help your business grow.

The Modes of Your Website

A website’s existence has two modes, each of which coincides with the stage of where your business is at. The first mode is launching and testing, and occurs while you’re first beginning your website. At this stage, you’re just starting your business and trying to find out where exactly your market is (or if you even have a market). Your website should be helping you accomplish that goal. The period of time when you are in this mode varies, from a few months to a couple of years.

The second mode is scaling and maintenance. During this stage, your business is thriving and you’re beginning to scale or are already scaling. This is when you take your info from your first mode and apply it to your website to create more leads. The heart of your brand should be developing along with your sales tactics at this point.

Understand Your Users

Once you’ve started to understand your market, you can now tailor your website to your customers’ needs to create leads. To engage, and let your customer engage with, your website, you need to create content that is for them.

What kind of content do you want to create? How do you want to present your message? What language and imagery should you use to speak to your users? All of these questions should be asked while keeping the customer in mind, and should always bring in more leads for your business. And really, the only way to find these answers is through research and testing.

Create Credibility

To keep customers coming back to your website, you need to establish credibility. Providing customer reviews, high resolution media, and links to social media can all help to create credibility and so generate leads. Instead of keeping your credibility on your Home or About page, try to show examples on every bit of your website, such as on your Services page.

In addition, creating and keeping up with a company blog is a great way to establish credibility within your industry. After all, who are you going to trust more? The social media agency who simply states on their about page that they know what they’re doing, or the one who proves it with carefully crafted, informational blog content?

(I think we know the answer)

How to Know Your Website is Relevant

To make sure that your website is performing and creating the most leads, use Key Performance Indicators or KPIs. Email sign-up forms, requesting phone calls, having downloadable materials on your site, and purchases are all great KPIs that allow you to check to see if your website is performing well.

Of course, there are a ton of analytical tools, like Google Analytics, for use that can also help determine your performance, yet that is another blog for another time. By using these KPIs, you can track how well your website is in creating leads.
