As we approach the halfway point in the year, we wanted to switch things up a bit with a new monthly series. The first Friday of every month we’ll be sharing a little behind the scenes info and industry insights to help you understand what exactly we do at TargetMarket. Each post will be broken down into three parts—what we’re learning, what we’re loving and what we’ve launched.

Facebook and Instagram Updates from F8 2019: Last month, Facebook hosted their F8 conference. During the two-day event in San Jose, California, execs announced a number of changes and updates to Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram, as well as their WhatsApp platform and virtual reality devices and programs. Of the most notable updates includes a redesign for Facebook’s desktop and mobile experiences which includes changes to both the look and functionality of the platform. You’ll see larger buttons, quick access to most-used features, and groups and events will become more prominent.

Instagram will become more robust with the addition of shopping features and the ability to integrate with Facebook’s fundraising platform to run a donation campaign. They also announced the introduction of Create Mode to make Instagram Stories easier to create.

Facebook Messenger is also getting redesigned so that it launches faster, takes up less storage and uses less battery power on your phone. The update also includes a desktop version to help users “seamlessly message from any device, and sometimes they just want a little more space to share and connect with the people they care about most.”

These changes and updates won’t happen all at once, and we can expect to see them roll out in the coming weeks and months.

Keywords Everywhere: We rely on several tools to help doctors stand out in today’s competitive healthcare market. Because we emphasize the importance of content-driven search engine optimization (SEO) to not only drive traffic to your website but also to convert new patients for your practice, we spend a lot of time on keyword research. To find what keywords people are searching for most, we use Keywords Everywhere—a free browser add-on for Chrome and Firefox that shows how many people are searching for a specific term. It also shows the cost-per-click for a keyword, which helps us create targeted pay-per-click campaigns and deliver the highest ROI possible for our client’s advertising budget.

Asana: Our team works from two locations in Raleigh, North Carolina and Summerville, South Carolina (just outside of beautiful, historic Charleston). Asana helps us stay connected, manage projects and streamline our workflow so we can deliver quality work to our clients on schedule.

HealthPark Pediatrics: At TargetMarket, we work with a variety of healthcare professionals from general practitioners to specialists. Most recently, we designed a website for HealthPark Pediatrics—a pediatrics practice based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Though the practice is new and slated to open on July 1, the providers each have a longstanding reputation for serving patients in the area, which was important to emphasize on the homepage.

The design we created is fun and slightly whimsical. It features bold primary colors and high-quality imagery.

While having an attractive website is important, it should also be functional and easy to navigate. Some of the ways we achieved this was with prominent call-to-actions such as a simple request an appointment form and click-to-call button. It’s features like these that help convert visitors to your website into patients.

What We’re Learning
